Post 4: Time travel to the past or future

In recent times I have questioned myself a lot about what life experience was like as a person of the LGBTQIi+ community in the past.

Especially knowing that it was a much stricter, patriarchal, binary and heteronormative social system.

It is incredible to think of the hatred that the community received that was reflected in the violence and/or discrimination towards diversity; and how that has affected the LGBTQI+ community. But at the same time, this has made people fight for their rights much more persistently. So now I would like to think about a better future with a decent treatment for everyone.

It would be utopian to speak of a peaceful society, but I constantly dream of global respect for each person and their body. I would love for everyone to be able to experience their gender identity and/or sexual orientation without prejudice or ridicule.

Regarding respect, I idealize him as someone who is careful and at the same time humble, that no one is humiliated for any reason and that diverse identities are valued even more.

I currently consider myself a non-binary person, I am 22 years old and I hope that when I double my age, that is, when I am 44 years old, I would love for Chilean society to respect the rights of non-binary people. , since there is currently no identification for our identity.

    The LGBT community has fight to get greats changes through the years, big advances has been achieve compared to the society in the past, however, there's still a lot to fight for, to finally get to a point were everyone can feel and be respect and treat like an equal.

    The struggle of the LGBT movement throughout history is very impressive, specifically all the resilience and perseverance they have gone through, but we still have a long way to go as a society, I hope for a near future where we all get to be respected equally.
